Health Care
I know firsthand how broken the health care system is in our country. In the last ten years, I have had good health insurance, bad health insurance, and no health insurance at all. I know what it’s like to worry that a significant illness or accident could bring bankruptcy.
I believe that those without it should be guaranteed quality health insurance as a matter of right — not of privilege. I support HB 1660, which has been proposed in the state house to provide universal health care in Pennsylvania. I also believe we should better publicize Pennsylvania’s CHIP program, ensuring that every child in Pennsylvania is insured.
In addition, I support the legislation currently stalled in Congress and I call on President Obama and leaders in both the House of Representatives and Senate to get reform done.
